Hotel Z - A Staypineapple Hotel

My first time in San Diego, and I couldn't have found a better hotel! Convenient to everything, the rooms were large, clean and very comfortable. The best plus, though, the service! Adrianna was very helpful and went the extra mile giving me a great suite when my flight canceled during the Fern snowstorm. I was so happy! And Allen even offered to hold my room until 5pm when my flight kept delaying. They both went above and beyond and made my awesome stay in San Diego even better. I will definitely be returning!

Great experience at this little boutique hotel. Very comfortable rooms and hospitality was great. Having the bikes to checkout for free was awesome. Only complaints I would have are lack of a gym and lack of breakfast. Neither one of which was a deal killer but the price was right and the location is perfect with tons of food and entertainment options within easy walking distance.

First time staying here and it definitely won’t be the last. Hotel is conveniently located just a couple of blocks away from Petco Park. Hotel doesn’t have parking lot so we parked our vehicle in the ACE parking garage to the right side of the hotel. We payed $17 dollars for overnight parking on Sunday, so I don’t think that was bad at all. First impressions of the hotel is the fresh scent of the hallways that lead to the rooms. The hotel is so nice and clean and Adrianna at the front desk was very friendly. The hotel seems very dog friendly as they offered complementary dog treats. The room was very clean and spacious. They offered complementary water and free refills. They also offered two complementary drinks of your choice. I got a soda and my husband got a beer. Check out time is at 12pm! I was very impressed with this hotel and for sure are staying here again next time we come to San Diego

Had a great weekend getaway in San Diego and stayed at the Hotel Z. We are huge fans of Stay Pineapple hotels (have stayed in Chicago and New York too.) This one did not disappoint. GREAT location so that we didn't have to rent a car. We walked, used public transit or borrowed their bikes to get around. We got suggestions from the front desk folks for breakfasts (all of which turned out great!) The room was a great size and very comfortable. 10/10 and would stay there again and again!!

This was my first time staying at a Staypineapple Hotel. It was chosen for its affordability by my company, as I was attending an event at the Convention Center nearby. The rooms were cute, cozy, and clean. The staff was welcoming, and the free drink came in handy the following morning when I redeemed the coaster for a cold brew coffee. Just a short walk away from the Convention Center, Petco Park, and really nice eateries, this location had it all for my coworkers and I. Cannot wait to stay at the location here in Boston. I hope that whomever buys this location in San Diego keeps the charm that is evident from the second you arrive!

I honestly had the best time in this hotel! The staff was super friendly from the moment I checked in, and the whole place had such a fun, clean, welcoming vibe. My room was adorable and SO comfortable — the bed was insanely cozy and everything felt fresh and well taken care of. I loved all the cute little details around the entire building too; it made the space feel really unique. The location was right in the middle of Gaslamp, perfect for exploring little shops and eateries around downtown, and it just made my trip much more relaxing. I had a really great experience and would totally stay here again. Highly recommend if you want a cute, comfy, and super easy stay!

Was in SD for a conference at the convention center (just a few blocks away!) and stayed at Hotel Z for 7 nights total. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and we booked this during Cyber Monday and got a pretty good deal (with all the amenity fees and taxes, averaged to about $165 per night). The service is very friendly and accommodating, and the location is great! We also loved the fluffy duvet, some of the most comfortable hotel bedding we’ve had! 2 things that were less ideal for us: 1. With staying for a long period of time (and my husband tagged along and was WFH each day in the mornings), we began to feel the lack of amenities, like lack of fridge/microwave (I think only available in the suites, not the standard rooms) and lack of even a small fitness center (we did end up using the bikes, but there aren’t a lot of great bike paths nearby that are easily/quickly accessible). 2. The soundproofing was so terrible/nonexistent…would recommend anyone who gets assigned a 2nd Fl room facing the street to switch. I wore ear plugs each night, kept windows closed, and I still woke up at least once per night (people going to and from the bars/clubs, cars blasting music, and the worse was the daily dumpster trucks?? They were around daily between 4-5a and it was so loud it felt like someone was operating machinery in our room; videos included). I wish we had asked to switch our room early in the stay but we unpacked so much and just kept thinking it wouldn’t be a nightly thing. Side note, if you do stay here or elsewhere in Gaslamp, highly recommend Rolling Out bakery a few blocks away! I’ll be dreaming about those pastries.

Great location in the heart of Gaslamp Quarter with lots of fabulous restaurants and nightlife and close to public transport, so we didn’t need to rent a car. Hotel staff were very helpful and always cheerful, and the rooms were clean and well furnished. We especially loved meeting friendly pup-guests, and we will bring our dogs next time. We loved the free bicycle use and the reusable water bottles. What a great place! We will be back.
